1 Hear my words, O LORD my God;
listen to my sighs and groans.
2 Hear my cry, my king, my God,
I will pray to you alone.
3 When the morning comes, O LORD,
you shall hear my pleading cries;
I will watch when comes the dawn;
I will bring my sacrifice.
4 Surely you are not a God
who in evil takes delight;
evil shall not dwell with you,
5 nor the proud stand in your sight.
Evildoers, LORD, you hate;
6 lying ones will you lay waste.
Those who murder and deceive,
God, the LORD, abhors and hates.
7 Yet in your abounding love,
to your house will I draw near,
bowing to your holy place,
worshiping in rev’rent fear.
8 Since, O LORD, my enemies
all around me lie in wait,
lead me in your righteousness;
make your way before me straight.
9 Not one word they say is true;
from their heart destruction comes;
and their throats are open graves,
yet they flatter with their tongues.
10 Make them bear their guilt, O God;
let them by their counsels fall;
snare them in the schemes they plan,
for against you they rebel.
11 Let all those who flee to you
find their refuge and be glad.
Let them ever sing for joy,
ever them protection spread.
12 Those who truly love your name
magnify you with their praise.
You will bless the righteous, LORD,
shielding him with all your grace.
