9 Confuse my enemies, O Lord,
and all their speech confound;
For in the city I see strife
and violence abound.
10 They prowl its walls both day and night;
cause harm to all they meet.
11 Oppression, fraud, and crime hold sway
and fill the crowded streets.
12 It is no foe insulting me,
for that I could abide;
if enemies were to rise up,
I’d find a place to hide.
13 But it is you, my own dear friend,
my colleague all along!
14 We shared sweet fellowship and walked
to God’s house with the throng.
15 May death come on my enemies;
to Sheol let them depart,
for evil is their dwelling place
and lies within their hearts.
