13 Behold my affliction, your mercy accord,
and back from death’s portals restore me, O LORD,
14 that I in the gates of your Zion may raise
my song of salvation and show forth your praise.
15 The sins of the nations their ruin have wrought,
their own evildoing destruction has brought;
16 In this the Lord’s justice eternally stands,
that sinners are snared in the work of their hands.
17 The wicked return to the grave’s dark abode,
all nations and those who are heedless of God.
18 But God will remember the cause of the weak;
he will not let perish the hope of the meek.
19 Arise in your justice, O LORD, and your might,
no longer let sinners prevail in your sight;
20 great Judge of the nations, in judgment appear
to humble the proud and to teach them to fear.
